Best parkour spots in Pasadena
Emmy Schouten
Memorial Park
Memorial Park is one of the biggest parks in the city. That means plenty of good spots for your parkour training! You have a section for calisthenics and fitness near the edge. It is pretty basic, but still nice for a good warm-up. There are a few bars with different heights. These are great for practicing your flips on a soft ground. You can also get in some precision jumps on the rails. The whole park has great handrails so look out for those. After you’ve warmed up, you can practice your parkour vaults. There are picnic tables in the perfect place for those. You can speed up on the grass field and vault right over. Memorial Park is known for the concerts and events. There is a whole line of benches near the stage. You can practice a full-on parkour run on here! Try out some stride jumps or practice more vaults. And if you really want to focus on your parkour jumps, visit the playground. There are plenty of obstacles there to practice on. From precision jumps, to parkour rolls, and cat leaps. You can try them all out here!
Pasadena City College Campus
This campus is packed with obstacles! Near the Shatford library are some great ones. There are some big concrete blocks near the entrance. From there you can jump onto a soft grass mat. It is the perfect place to practice your rolls, without breaking your arm ;). There are a lot of free spaced walls in this area. You can try out a wallrun and perfect your climb up. The walls near the library also have obstacles next to them. It is the best place to test your tic tac and get across. Near the community education centre is the best place for your vaults. There are tables, benches, ledges and small fences. All of these are the perfect height for your personal parkour course.
Brookside Park
Brookside Park is very similar to Memorial. There is a small exercise section to warm-up for parkour. It is not a full parkour gym but there are bars to practice on. You can try some flips, precision jumps, and get the blood flowing. After that you can head over to the main attraction. The playground here is massive! It has monkey bars, towers, rails in all different heights, and even a little obstacle run. There is a pirate theme going on that makes the obstacles super unique. You can practice every parkour trick here. Even better is the variation. Not one obstacle is the same, which makes for a pretty unique run! Definitely add this spot to your list.
Pasadena City Hall
This last one is hidden in the centre of Pasadena. At the back of the city hall is a small garden. It has benches, a fountain, rails, and multiple stairs. It might not seem like much, but you can push your creativity. Make sure to check out the backside as well. The ledges and blocks here are great obstacles for parkour practice. Try out some precision jumps, underbars or even vault over the benches. We’ve got a whole page with tricks for you to try here! Show us what you came up with in CityLegends.
